Isn’t she the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?? I was at The Twickenham Doll Show in Huntsville Al yesterday and it was amazing! Most of the dolls were “antique”, “vintage”, or collectable, but a lot of it was just dirty, creepy old dolls that people were trying to sell for crazy prices. Old bisque dolls and dolls from around the 70’s are not my cup of tea. But it was still interesting to see them all and to see my mother’s face light up seeing toys from her childhood.
That being said, it was all worth it because I got some invaluable advice and teachings from an old crocheter named Doti that works with sewing thread and a size 16 crochet hook! I had always wanted to make the jump to going smaller, but found that the information I needed just wasn’t anywhere I could find. She told me everything I needed to know and I am very greatful and excited to get started on the tinies!! This is some of her work:
Just amazing the scale and detail of it.
Even though most of the prices were way too high, I managed to get 2 wigs for my Pullip / Tangkou and 2 pairs of shoes for my Hujoo baby for just $10! I was hoping one of the wigs would fit one of my BFC ink girls, but her head is too big.
I’ve been slacking off on updating my etsy store with new items. School and life in general has got me a little bogged down right now. I’ve been working on an autumn leaf fairy outfit for a belly button Barbie sized doll, but I haven’t managed to finish it yet. And I am almost done with a candycorn jumper for a BFC ink sized doll. My next project I think will be to re-root by one BFC ink girl that has unfixable hair. We’ll see how that goes. I can’t figure out how to add a slide show anymore, stupid wordpress always changing on me. but here are some photos from the show.
lol, what little girl wouldn’t want to have this?
