Isn’t she the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?? I was at The Twickenham Doll Show in Huntsville Al yesterday and it was amazing! Most of the dolls were “antique”, “vintage”, or collectable, but a lot of it was just dirty, creepy old dolls that people were trying to sell for crazy prices. Old bisque dolls and dolls from around the 70’s are not my cup of tea. But it was still interesting to see them all and to see my mother’s face light up seeing toys from her childhood.

That being said, it was all worth it because I got some invaluable advice and teachings from an old crocheter named Doti that works with sewing thread and a size 16 crochet hook! I had always wanted to make the jump to going smaller, but found that the information I needed just wasn’t anywhere I could find. She told me everything I needed to know and I am very greatful and excited to get started on the tinies!! This is some of her work:

Just amazing the scale and detail of it.

Even though most of the prices were way too high, I managed to get 2 wigs for my Pullip / Tangkou  and 2 pairs of shoes for my Hujoo baby for just $10! I was hoping one of the wigs would fit one of my BFC ink girls, but her head is too big.

I’ve been slacking off on updating my etsy store with new items. School and life in general has got me a little bogged down right now. I’ve been working on an autumn leaf fairy outfit for a belly button Barbie sized doll, but I haven’t managed to finish it yet. And I am almost done with a candycorn jumper for a BFC ink sized doll. My next project I think will be to re-root by one BFC ink girl that has unfixable hair. We’ll see how that goes. I can’t figure out how to add a slide show anymore, stupid wordpress always changing on me. but here are some photos from the show.

*I made an edit , I totally wrote it down wrong, sorry. Everything should be correct now.

This pattern should be easy to scale up or down for other small dolls, you just need to measure the starting chain around the doll and either add or subtract stitches. It is important though to have the number of stitches be even for the V stitch pattern to work. As for the top straps, just divide your new number of stitches by 4 the best you can and make the chains long enough to fit your doll’s shoulders.

Hujoo Baby dress

This pattern is written in American terms.

– Size B / 2.25mm crochet hook

– Bernat Handicrafter Crochet Thread. It doesn’t say what size it is, but it’s much thicker than size 10 crochet thread and thinner than 5. It is about the thickness of sock weight, or Patons Lace.

Starting with the bodice, the pink part in the picture. Use your main color of yarn. Worked in the round, do not turn.

1. Ch 19, join. (this should leave you with 18 stitches.) Sc around.

2 & 3. Sc around. Ch 2.

4. (1 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next stitch, *skip next stitch. (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next stitch.*  Repeat ** around. Join to ch 2. Ch 2.

5-7. Repeat row 4. FO

Now with the contrasting yarn, if you choose to use it. Join at the bottom of the skirt where you just finished off, and sc once in every dc and (1 sc, ch 3, join to first ch, 1 sc) in all the ch 2 spaces. Join to beginning of round and FO.

Still in contrasting yarn, turn the dress right side up with the back facing you.(Note: The following “stitches” mentioned are the other side of the starting chain in pink. Sometimes when you work both sides of a chain it leaves small gaps around. Try and crochet through both loops left from the chain if you can. But if this confuses you then don’t worry about it.)

Starting from the center back, join and sc in the next 3 stitches. Ch 10, skip the next 4 stitches, sc in the next 5 stitches, ch 10, skip the next 4 stitches, sc in the next 2. Join. Sc around in all the sc and across each ch 10. Join and FO. Weave in the ends. Yay, you’re done!!

I hope that you can understand this pattern, and as always don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Also, this pattern is completely of my own creation and is for personal use only. I ask that you do not sell this pattern or the items you make from it. Thank you.

Enjoy! Some undies to go with this dress will be up very soon so follow me and check back! I love to hear your comments so don’t be shy!

Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and stuffed your face with shameful amounts of food! I’ve been really busy lately, but today I went to the thrift store and picked up some goodies! The above picture is of my Suve, I’m thinking of naming her Charlotte. I did a little customizing even though I loved her stock. Please excuse the half finished wig and no real clothes. I got these eyes from a plastic pony for like 25 cents and they look amazing. I’m thinking romantic vampire! Here is the unlucky pony aforementioned. But I didn’t feel bad about it because the thing had no markings at all so I figure it was from the dollar store or something. I get a little upset at people who will cut up a perfectly good thing, especially things that are collected and well loved. Recycling is taking things that are trash, or that people DON’T WANT. If it’s still decent, let someone keep using it until it’s in bad enough shape that you can responsibly reclaim it.  *end rant*

The eyes compared to my Suve stock.

I also found this Liv doll for $1 (SCORE!) and this strange jointed Barbie that I will probably use to hybrid something in the future.

I got this elephant thing that moves and makes noises for my grandmother’s Christmas present. When we were growing up she always had this little black flippy dog that would bark, wind up, and then flip. I hope she likes this, she has early dementia so she probably will. XD

And I got this great ribbon, and a candle holder I think. The ribbon is light pink with iridescent stripes, though you can’t really see in the picture. And I got the candle holder to unravel and get the beautiful seed beads from! I also got a complete latch hook rug kit in this cool poppy pattern. It has one row done on it, I guess it’s previous owner did not have very much patience . haha

I also broke down and got a Monster High doll. I want to get into repainting them, and also I can use her for a model to crochet. She isn’t as green as I hoped she would be…I may paint her…

Well that’s all for now. I’ll be back soon with a post on dollhouse furniture!

Thanks for reading. Please please pppllleeeaaassseee leave a comment if you like what you see!
